Sanskrit Moral Story The Stork and The Crab:

बकः कर्कटकः च 

हिमालयस्य समीपे एकः सरोवरः आसीत्। तस्य सरोवरस्य समीपे एकः बकः अवसत्। कालान्तरे सः बकः वृद्धः अभवत्। अतः सः मत्स्यानां ग्रहणं कर्तुम् असमर्थः अभवत्। अनन्तरं बकः स्वस्य जीवनस्य रक्षणाय एकस्य उपयासी चिन्तनम् अकरोत्। उपयानुसारं बकः सरोवरस्य समीपे उपविश्ये रोदनं अकरोत्।  तदा एकः कर्कटः बकम् अपश्यत्। 

 सः बकस्य निकटे अपृच्छत्। भो बक! भवान् किमर्थं रोदनं करोति? इति। 

बकः तस्य प्रश्नस्य उत्तरम् अयच्छत्, कर्कटक! अस्मिन् वत्सरे वृष्टिः न भविष्यति।  अतः जलस्य न्यूनतया वयं पीडिताः भविष्यामः। 

अतः एव अहम् रोदनं करोमि इति।  कर्कटकः अपि दुःखितः इदानीं किं कुर्मः? इति बकस्य निकटे उपायम् अपृच्छत्। बकः अवदत्, मम जलपूर्णस्य अन्यस्य सरोवरस्य परिचयः अस्ति। तत्र वयं गत्वा जीवामः इति। कर्कटकः तर्हि भवानेव मम, बन्धुजनानां च रक्षणं करोतु इति अवदत्।  वञ्चकः बकः एकैकस्मिन् दिने एकं कर्कटकः नीत्वा अखादयत्।      

Moral of the Story:

"वञ्चकस्य विषये विश्वासः न करणीयः।"

The Stork and the Crab

There was a lake near the Himalayas. Near the lake there lived a Stork. Over time, the stork grew old. Therefore he become unable to catch fish. In order to save its own life, it came up with an idea. As per the plan, the stork sat by the lake and started crying. A crab saw the stork. 

He asked the stork, "O stork! Why are you crying?

The stork replied to the question thus "O Crab! this year we will not have any rain. So we all suffer from lack of water.". 

"That is why I am crying." The crab also became sad and asked the stork "What can we do now?"  The stork said, I know of another lake where there is plenty of water. Let's go there and we can live there.

Then the crab said "Please save all our relatives". The evil stork killed and ate one crab every day.

Moral of the story:

सारस और केकड़ा

हिमालय के पास एक झील थी। झील के पास एक सारस रहता था। समय के साथ सारस बूढ़ा हो गया। इसलिए वह मछली पकड़ने में असमर्थ हो जाता है। उसने अपनी जान बचाने के लिए एक तरकीब निकाली। योजना के अनुसार सारस झील के किनारे बैठ गया और रोने लगा। एक केकड़े ने सारस को देखा।

उसने सारस से पूछा, "हे सारस! तुम क्यों रो रहे हो?

सारस ने इस सवाल का जवाब दिया "हे केकड़े! इस साल बारिश नहीं होगी। इसलिए हम सभी पानी की कमी से पीड़ित हैं।"

"इसलिए मैं रो रहा हूँ।" केकड़ा भी उदास हो गया और उसने सारस से पूछा "अब हम क्या करें?" सारस ने कहा, मैं एक और सरोवर को जानता हूं, जहां जल की बहुतायत है। चलो वहां चलते हैं और हम वहां रह सकते हैं।

तब केकड़े ने कहा "कृपया हमारे सभी रिश्तेदारों को बचा लीजिए"। दुष्ट सारस प्रतिदिन एक केकड़े को मारकर खा जाता था।
