"विद्या नाम नरस्य कीर्तिरतुला भाग्यक्षये चाश्रयो

धेनुः कामदुधा रतिश्च विरहे नेत्रं तृतीयं च सा ।

सत्कारायतनं कुलस्य महिमा रत्नैर्विना भूषणम्

तस्मादन्यमुपेक्ष्य सर्वविषयं विद्याधिकारं कुरु ॥"

Vidyā Nām Narasya Kīrtiratulā Bhāgyakṣaye Chāśrayo

Dhenuḥ Kāmadudhā Ratiścha Virahe Netraṁ Tr̥tīyaṁ Cha Sā.

Satkārāyatanaṁ Kulasya Mahimā Ratnairvinā Bhūṣaṇaṁ

Tasmādanyamūpekṣya Sarvaviṣayaṁ Vidyādhikāraṁ Kuru.

English Translation:-

Vidya is an incomparable fame; She gives shelter when fate is destroyed, is Kamdhenu, is equal in separation, has a third eye, is a temple of hospitality, has family-glory, is ornament without gems; Therefore, leaving all other subjects, become an officer of knowledge.

Hindi Translation-

विद्या अनुपम कीर्ति है; भाग्य का नाश होने पर वह आश्रय देती है, कामधेनु है, विरह में रति समान है, तीसरा नेत्र है, सत्कार का मंदिर है, कुल-महिमा है, बगैर रत्न का आभूषण है; इसलिए अन्य सब विषयों को छोडकर विद्या का अधिकारी बन ।

जैसे एक पहिये से रथ नहीं चल सकता। ठीक उसी प्रकार बिना पुरुषार्थ के भाग्य सिद्ध नहीं हो सकता है।

साक्षात् पशुः पुच्छविषाणहीनः।

तृणं न खादन्नपिजीवमानः

तद्भागधेयं परमं पशूनाम्।।"

प्रवाह में बहेनेवाली नदी नाव में बैठे हुए इन्सान को न पहुंच पानेवाले समंदर तक पहुंचाती है, वैसे हि निम्न जाति में गयी हुई विद्या भी, उस इन्सान को राजा का समागम करा देती है; और राजा का समागम होने के बाद उसका भाग्य खील उठता है।

"देवो रुष्टे गुरुस्त्राता गुरो रुष्टे न कश्चन:।

गुरुस्त्राता गुरुस्त्राता गुरुस्त्राता न संशयः।।"
