Transliteration-

Hastasparśo Hi Mātr̥ṇāmajalasya Jalānjaliḥ.

Hindi Translation-

माँ के हाथ का स्पर्श उस मुट्ठी भर पानी के समान होता है, जो उसके अभाव में होता है।

English Translation-

The fingering of a mother's hand is like the handful of water for one in want of it.

Transliteration-

Gurū Patnī Rājapatnī Jyeṣṭha Patnī Tathaiva Cha.

Patnī Mātā Svamātā Cha Panchaitā Mātaraḥ Smritaḥ.

Hindi Translation-

गुरु की पत्नी, राजा की पत्नी, बड़े भाई की पत्नी, पत्नी की माता (जीजाजी) और स्वयं की माता- इन पांचों को माता कहा गया है।

English Translation-

The wife of the teacher, the wife of the king, the wife of the elder brother, the mother of the wife ( Brother-in- law) and one's own mother- these five are said to be mothers.

माँ के समान कोई छाँव नहीं, माँ के समान कोई सहारा नहीं, माँ के समान कोई सुरक्षा नहीं, माँ के समान जल का घर नहीं।

English Translation-

There is no shelter like a mother, no take to like a mother, no protection like a mother, no water house like a mother.

"जननी जन्मभूमिश्च स्वर्गादपि गरीयसी।" 

Transliteration-

Jananī Janmabhūmiścha Svagādapi Garīyasī.

Hindi Translation-

मां और मातृभूमि स्वर्ग से भी श्रेष्ठ है।
