आलस्यं हि मनुष्याणं शरीरस्थो महान रिपुः। 

नास्तुद्यमसमो बन्धुः कृत्वा यम नावसीदति।।

Hindi Translation-

इंसान का सबसे बड़ा दुश्मन उसका आलस्य होता है और सबसे बड़ा मित्र परिश्रम ही होता है। क्योंकि परिश्रमी व्यक्ति कभी दुखी नही होता। 

English Meaning:

Laziness is the biggest enemy in the Human body. There is no better friend than hard work, one does not remain sad after doing it.

परिश्रम पर संस्कृत में श्लोक 

षड दोषाः पुरुषेणेह हातव्या भूतिमिच्छता। 

निंद्रा तंद्रा भयं क्रोधः आलस्यं दीर्घसूत्रता।।

Hindi Translation-

मनुष्य के विनाश का कारण ६ अवगुण हैं..नींद, तन्द्रा, भय, क्रोध, आलस्य और काम चोरी की आदत वालें। 

English Translation -

The cause of destruction of human beings are 6 demerits... Sleep, sleepiness, fear, anger, laziness and the habit of stealing sex.

संस्कृत श्लोक परिश्रम पर 

अधमाः धनमिच्छन्ति धनम् मानम् च मध्यमाः। 

उत्तमाः मानमिच्छान्ति मानो हि महताम धनं।।

Hindi Translation-

छोटी सोच के लोग सिर्फ धन की इच्छा रखते है और मध्य सोच के लोग धन और सम्मान दोनों की  इच्छा रखते हैं। लेकिन महान सोच के लोग सिर्फ सम्मान की इच्छा रखते हैं। 

English Translation-

Small minded people want only make money and middle minded people want both make money and respect. But people of great thinking only desire-respect.

वाणी रसवती यस्य, यस्य श्रमवती क्रिया। 

लक्ष्मीः दानवती यस्य, सफलम् तस्य जीवितम्।।

Hindi Translation-

जिसकी वाणी मीठी हो, कार्य परिश्रम युक्ता हो और धन दान में करने में प्रयुक्त हो ऐसा व्यक्ति जीवन में सफल होता है। 

English Translation-

The People whose voice is sweet, the work is diligent and the money is used in charity, such a person becomes successful in life.

यथा ह्येकेन चक्रेण न रथस्य गतिर्भवेत् ।

एवं पुरुषकारेण विना दैवं न सिध्यति ।।

Hindi Translation-

जैसे रथ (गाड़ी) एक पहिये से नहीं चल सकता, वैसे ही बिना परिश्रम के भाग्य फल नहीं लाता।

English Meaning: -

as a chariot (cart) can't move with one wheel, similarly, without hard work destiny doesn't bring fruit.

Hindi Translation-

भाग्य से भले ही सामने कोई खजाना पड़ा हुआ दिखाई दे, भाग्य उसे हाथ में नहीं देता, कुछ प्रयास (उठाने का) (अभी भी) अपेक्षित है।

संस्कृत श्लोक (Sanskrit Sloka)

अलसस्य कुतो विद्या , अविद्यस्य कुतो धनम् |

अधनस्य कुतो मित्रम् , अमित्रस्य कुतः सुखम् ||

Hindi Translation-

आलसी के लिए ज्ञान कहाँ है (आलसी के लिए कोई ज्ञान नहीं है), अज्ञानी/मूर्ख के लिए धन कहाँ है (अज्ञानी के लिए धन नहीं है); गरीब के लिए दोस्त कहाँ होते हैं (गरीब के दोस्त नहीं होते) और दोस्तों के बिना कोई कैसे खुश रह सकता है।

English Meaning:-

Where is knowledge for a lazy person (there in no knowledge meant for a lazy person), Where is wealth for ignorant/foolish (There is no wealth meant for ignorant); Where are friends for poor person (There are no friends of a poor person) and How one can be happy without friends.

उद्यमेन हि सिद्ध्यन्ति कार्याणि न मनोरथैः।

नहि सुप्तस्य सिंहस्य मुखे प्रविशन्ति मृगाः।।

Hindi Translation-

किसी भी कार्य को केवल सक्रिय उत्साह से ही पूरा किया जा सकता है, केवल काल्पनिक विचारों से ही नहीं। सोते हुए सिंह के मुख में मृग (पशु) प्रवेश नहीं करते।

English Translation- 

Any Work can be accomplished only through proactive enthusiasm, never by imaginary thoughts alone. Deer's (animals) do not enter the mouth of a sleeping lion.

 करोति सफलं जन्तोः कर्म यच्च करोति सः।।

Hindi Translation-

निराशा से मुक्ति बहुत खुशी देती है और सफलता की ओर ले जाती है, मनुष्य का साहसिक अभियान निश्चित रूप से फल देता है।

English Translation-

Freedom from despondency gives great happiness and leads to success, the adventurous campaign of a man certainly bears fruit.
