चटकः वानरः च संस्कृत कथा 

    वने एकः वृक्षः आसीत्। वृक्षे एकः चटकः वसति स्म। एकदा तत्र मन्दं मन्दं वृष्टिः भवति। एकः वानरः आश्रयार्थं वृक्षस्य अधः आगच्छति। वानरं दृष्ट्वा चटकः वदति- " भोः वानर, भवतः शरीरं मनुष्यशरीरं इव अस्ति। हस्तौ पादौ च सम्यक सन्ति।  भवान् उत्तमगृहस्य निर्माणं किं न करोति?" तत् श्रुत्वा वानरः कुपितः भवति। वानरः चटकम् वदति -"किमर्थं भवान् मौनं न तिष्ठति? किमर्थं मम उपहासं करोति?"  इति उक्त्वा सः वानरः वृक्षं आरोहति। 

वानरः चटकस्य नीडं नाशयति। 

नीतिसंदेश:

अयोग्यः उपदेशं न अर्हति। 

English Translation:

Sparrow and the Monkey Sanskrit Story

    There was a tree in the forest. A Sparrow lived in the tree. Once there is a gentle rain. A monkey comes under a tree for shelter. Seeing the monkey, Sparrow says, "My monkey, your body is like a human body. Your hands and feet are perfect. Why don't you build a good house?" The monkey is angry when he hears that. The monkey says to Sparrow, "Why don't you keep quiet? Why are you making fun of me?" With that the monkey climbs the tree.

The monkey destroys the nest of the lizard.

Moral of the Story:

The unworthy does not deserve advice.

चतुरः काकः 

    एकः काकः आसीत्। तस्य बहु दाहः भवति। काकः अत्र पश्यति। काकः तत्र पश्यति। परन्तु जलं नास्ति। सः काकः अन्यत्र गच्छति। तत्र एकः घटः अस्ति। घटे किञ्चित् जलम् अस्ति। काकः जलम् पातुम् न शक्नोति। सः चिन्तयति। समीप शिलाखण्डाः सन्ति।  काकः शिलाखण्डान्  घटे स्थापयति। जलम् उपरि उपरि आगच्छति। काकः सन्तोषेण जलम् पिबति। एषः पुरातनः सामान्यः काकः। 

    अन्यः नूतनकाकः। तस्य अपि दाहः भवति। सः घटस्य समीपं गच्छति। घटे किञ्चित् जलम अस्ति। काकः आपणम् गच्छति। ततः एकाम् पाननलिकाम् आनयति। नलिकां घटे स्थापयति। कष्टं विना जलं पिबति। एषः चतुरः काकः। 

English Translation:

The clever crow

There was a crow. He gets a lot of burns. The crow is looking here. The crow looks there. But there is no water. That crow is going somewhere else. There is a pot there. There is some water in the pot. The crow cannot drink water. He thinks about it. There are rocks nearby. The crow puts the pebbles in the pot. The water is coming up. The crow drinks the water with satisfaction. This is an old common crow.

    Another new crow. He also has a burn. He goes to the pot. There is some water in the pot. The crow goes to the market. Then he brings a drinking tube. He places the tube in the pot. He drinks water without difficulty. This is a clever crow.
